Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre: Season 4 (show)
“An aging, retired, Canadian-Mexican luchador — “Gringo Fantastico” — attempts to host films while dealing with the comedic shenanigans of his demonic piñata, Francois.”
“Get ready for another dose of cinematic mayhem! Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre — the acclaimed movie hosting show renowned for its witty and irreverent take on cult and B-movies — is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated fourth season, set to premiere exclusively on Troma Entertainment’s Troma Now streaming service later this fall.”
“This season will see series creator Nate Turnpaugh take the helm as director as well as co-producer alongside Gloria Turnpaugh, and new addition, Brendan Petrizzo, who will co-produce several episodes. Petrizzo — known for his directorial work and production work on numerous films for The Asylum, including Megalodon: The Frenzy, Devil’s Triangle, and Monster Hunters — brings a wealth of experience in the realm of fantastic creature features and mockbusters to the “Fantastico” universe, promising to inject fresh perspectives and even more diverse “disasterpieces” into the mix.”
“Fans — or “Fantasticats,” as Nate Turnpaugh calls them — can brace themselves for hilarious breakdowns of infamous films from Troma Entertainment, Severin Films, and beyond, including Lucio Fulci’s Aenigma, the Troma classic Class of Nuke ‘Em High, the chilling Haunting Fear, and the wild antics of the Vice Academy series (including interviews from cast members and comments from director Rick Sloane (Hobgoblins, Blood Theater), alongside many other hidden gems and notorious flops.”
“Adding to the excitement, Season 4 boasts an incredible lineup of special guests, featuring horror icons Linnea Quigley (known for Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers), Michelle Bauer (Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama), and Brinke Stevens (The Slumber Party Massacre, Nightmare Sisters, and Teenage Exorcist), alongside actor, podcaster, and stand-up comedian Johnny Taylor Jr., and AEW professional wrestler, Powerhouse Hobbs. Their insights and reactions are sure to add an extra layer or fantastic chaos to the upcoming episodes.”
“We’re super pumped to bring Season 4 of Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre to our fans,” says Nate Turnpaugh, “Working with Brendan (Petrizzo) is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. He’s going to bring quite a bit to the table and help me keep things rolling. Also, having Linnea, Michelle, Brinke, Johnny, and Powerhouse Hobbs join us as guests means this season is going to be extremely successful, not to mention hilariously fun and ridiculous. We keep adding guests to our list as well. Not sure who else will pop in this time. This season is also the first time I’ve hosted films outside of the Troma umbrella. I’ll be hosting three films from Severin’s library as well. I’m ecstatic to have the opportunity to tackle Fulci’s and [Luigi] Cozzi’s films.”
“Turnpaugh continues, “This new season also starts a completely new narrative for the show. We just wrapped up a three-season storyline, and we’re starting Season 4 with something a little different… but just as bonkers!”
“To help fund Season 4, Better Than Nothing Films LLC will launch an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign beginning mid to late July. It will include several ways to be involved with the new season, from being an executive producer, having video and audio cameos, to getting your name on the credits with special thanks from the cast and crew.”
“While specific premiere dates and episode titles will be revealed soon, viewers can prepare for a new batch of cinematic misadventures, all delivered with Turnpaugh’s distinct humor, encyclopedic knowledge of cult classics, and knack for captivating interviews. Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre continues to be a must-watch for anyone who loves movies that are so bad, odd, or insane, they’re truly fantastic.”
